I am so excited!!!
I have decided that I am going to train to do two races in the fall.
I don't plan on winning either but I will finish them.
The first one is a 5km race called the Mindemoya Fun Run on October 3rd and the other one is a 10km run called the Wiky Road Runner on October 17th.
One of my weight loss goals is to be at my goal weight by my baby's first birthday on November 7th....both these races are so close to that time and I know I will be so close to that goal (maybe I will even be there) and I think doing these races will be such a triumph to this journey.
Now to plan my training schedule, if anyone has used a program that worked for them please share it with me. Money is a factor though.. I can't afford to buy any membership or anything like that for a training program but I am sure there must be some free ones out there. Maybe I don't even need an actual schedule and can build myself up to the 10km, hey I did it for 5km already without any program. What are your thoughts on this?
I am super excited!!!
Exciting Christine! Do you have a Running Room in town that you can join a free running clinic with?
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to get out the 170's either. GRRR! We're in the same boat with the lack of scale movement. Praying for you.
You are going to be so thrilled with yourself. My goal of being in the 160 for my b-day felt great! Also, the goal of running a marathon last year with the hott husband was HUGE accomplishment. You will love it. Let me tell ya...go ahead and decide that you also plan to love the process. There were times that I would get so irritated. It was in those times that I had to remind myself, "You signed up for this...you're not being forced." Go girl! By the way...you can goolge good race schedules....FOR FREE!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I wish I could run...maybe I will just do a walking event and really power walk it! :) It is nice to have something like that to work towards! :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for you!!! You'll have great fun and a great sense of achievement!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on picking a run! I know it's super exciting to work towards a goal. I found interval training worked best for me. So do 60 seconds running as fast as you can and then walk 90 seconds and do 10 sets of these. With a 5 minutes warm up and cool down this should take you 35 minutes. Then every run move 5 seconds from the walking to running. Once you're at 90 seconds running 60 seconds walking. After you hit that you can run for a bit at that. Then move up the amount of running time and decrease walking, or leave the walking the same and just increase the running! Good luck! You're going to rock it!
ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting, Christine! Congrats! You are doing such a super job! xo
