Scared to step on the Scale

My weigh in day isn't until Sunday but already I am fearing it!!!!

Not because I have eaten bad, I HAVEN"T (only healthy serving of healthy foods have entered my body) but becasue from what I have been reading online about starting a new exercise routine and all the muscles tearing and swelling it sounds like I almost will definately be up a bit.

Why does the scale dictate how I feel so easily? I am trying to work through all this now so on Sunday morning I will be prepared. I haven't had a gain since I started this journey and I don't want my streak to end yet! (insert sad face!)

I would like just skip my weigh in but I can't because I am part of a team and we each need to submit our weight weekly. Oh well, it is what it is! I know that I am making a great choice by working by body harder and building muscles so onward I will go and the scale will catch up.

  1. Don't let the scale bully you! I get on it everyday so I know my body and the tricks it can play on me. You know you're doing the right things so the loss will catch up if it doesn't show right away! Great job!

  2. Don't let the scale effect how you are feeling about your journey! I am also in a weekly weigh in group and I have had to submit gains and I was so upset about it until I checked my measurements. I lost 5 inches in those 2 weeks. Your body is changing, which you obviously know, but it's all positive! I'm sure you'll do great with your weigh in and whatever happens, just smile and know that you are doing an awesome job!

  3. Thank you Ladies! Funny where the support comes from....I never would have thought that I would have people online (that are strangers to me) help me on this journey!! Thanks again!

  5. As Kelly said, we're all in this. The workout is good for you. Will help keep you from regaining. So if it makes you gain weight, so what? Does it matter what the scale says or how healthy you get? If you weigh 200, but are a size 4, what matters more? Don't put so much emphasis on the scale. :)

  6. Remember that the scale is only a number! My rule of thumb is when the number is not so nice, I measure myself. That way I can smile and know that while the number isn't smaller, I certainly am! If you measured yourself before, try measuring yourself again this week. It always puts a smile on my face.

  7. You're doing an awesome job! I agree with what everyone else has said regarding the numbers on the scale and a healthy body. By the way, I had written a few posts on my blog about working out and eating healthy a few years ago, and because it's an "Island" blog, people who were visiting my blog thinking it was an "Island blog" kept leaving me comments about how I shouldn't talk about weight loss, excercise, etc...and just write about the Island!

It kind of bothered me since it's MY blog and I thought it was a safe place for me to voice my thoughts, concerns, opinions and interests. I stopped writing about my P90X and Slim in 6 workouts. Now that I've found your blog, I feel like it's okay for me to write about those things again. If people don't want to read about it, they don't have to comment! ;)
